We are excited to cheer on our Tigers to victory at Homecoming! Let's start a little early by wear our Tiger gear on Friday, September 1st! During the Week of September 5th-8th, here are the themed dress up days for Homecoming at AMES! MON: Labor Day and Homecoming Parade at 6:00 PM! TUES: Hip Hop Music Day-Dress up in your hip hop gear! WED: Country Western Music Day- Dress in your country western gear! THURS: Throwback Thursday-Dress in your favorite decade of music! FRI: Tiger Spirit gear-Let’s cheer on our Tigers to victory at the game!

Last day to sign up for IPad Insurance is this Friday, September 1st!

One School, One Book starts today! Each family will be receiving a free book to read at home. We are so excited! Happy reading, Tigers!

If anyone is still needing vaccinations or a sports physical, be sure to come out to one of the Madison County Health Department events.

What: Homecoming Candy Contest! Where: Send in a bag of candy for your child’s homeroom. When: Monday, August 21st - Thursday, August 31st, at 9:00 AM SHARP Why: To throw in the Homecoming Parade to Monday, September 4th at 6:00 pm PRIZE: The class with the most candy (in ounces) wins an ice cream sundae party!!!!

Show your Tiger Spirit on Friday! We would love to see our students wearing their Tiger gear on Friday. Go Tigers!

Thank you to all families who have sent in their free/reduced meal applications! For those who have not had a chance to fill out an application, you can find it on myschoolapps.com. We will process them as soon as they come in and send results home with your student in their backpacks. Tiger food pantry will be tonight at 4:00PM. Food distribution will be located at AMES under the canopy.

Interested in volleyball and in 6th grade? We are hosting 6th Grade Girls Volleyball tryouts on Monday, August 14 at 6 PM in the high school main gym. Please enter through the auxiliary gym entrance.

Our Tiger Food Pantry is tomorrow, Wednesday, August 9th starting at 4:00PM. Please do not line up for our food pantry until after 3:30PM. It allows our students and buses to safely leave our school parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation to help keep our students safe!

Wow! Thank you to our wonderful AMES Custodians for their tremendous efforts this summer cleaning and preparing our school for students on August 3! We truly could not do it without them.

We would like to give a big thank you to the First Baptist Church for hosting the Back to School Rally on monday night. It was a wonderful night!

We would like to welcome Sara Wiggington to Alexandria Community School Corporation. She is our new assistant principal for the elementary. She loves the education field! She said students are the best part of this job. Just being able to watch the students learn and grow is awesome. She has been in education for 23 years and was in the Indianapolis and Frankfort School Corporations during this time. She is very excited to be a part of Alexandria Community School Corporation. A little bit about her is that she has a 14-year-old son named Gabriel. She loves all animals and especially her sheepadoodle, Arnold. In her spare time, she likes to garden and read. She has a green thumb when it comes to gardening! She is a very positive person and cannot wait to get this school year started.
