Students honored at CIC Academic Banquet

StudentsThe sixth annual CIC Academic Banquet was held Thursday, at Central Indiana Ethanol, Marion. The banquet honored the best and brightest students who have excelled in the classroom. The CIC is a conference which has been in existence for several decades and includes: Alexandria-Monroe, Blackford, Eastbrook, Elwood, Frankton, Madison-Grant, Mississinewa, and Oak Hill. Three students from each school participating in the CIC were chosen by a formula combining their GPA and SAT or ACT scores to be honored. Above top from Alexandria are, left to right: Daniel Gaines, he will be attending Anderson University to study national securities political science and math; Samantha Libler, she will be attending Trine University to study medicine to be a physician assistant; and Noah Weston, he will be attending Trine University to become a chemical engineer. Bottom from Madison-Grant High School are left to right: Bryson Butcher, he will be attending Purdue University and is undecided in his future studies; Olivia Hazelwood, she will be attending IUPUI to major in Events Management; and Kevin Johnsen, he will be attending the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado and is majoring in Chemical Engineering.
